Co-founders Terry Keating and Art Candland founded TEAM in the early 2000s when a series of bank trusts and corporate fiduciaries were found liable for large employment-related claims. Because the trusts were considered the employers of record, and because employment liability is one of the few things that can pierce the veil of a trust, significant settlements had to be paid by both the trust and the fiduciary.
For the past 15 years, TEAM has served the guardians who safeguard the assets of some of our society’s most vulnerable members. Our purpose is to relieve trusts, guardianships, and conservatorships from the responsibility and liability of employing workers. Although we work with all kinds of trusts, we specialize in Special Needs Trusts and trusts providing for elder care. Over the years we have cultivated the expertise and institutional knowledge needed to manage employment in a simple and compliant manner. As the employer, we handle all aspects of employment – from hiring to termination – while remaining true to our core values of compassion, flexibility, and unparalleled service. It is our intention to conduct our daily operations in an equal and fair manner with customers and Third Parties alike.
With TEAM, families refer workers for hire, meaning they can pick people they know and trust to provide services for their loved ones – including non-traditional service providers such as family members or neighbors. Once a worker is identified, TEAM will perform the necessary employment verification, process hiring paperwork, and manage all employee administration, ensuring that the trust administrator stays informed − and that the beneficiary receives the highest level of service.
